This Math Monday, we’re celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day with profiles of three wonderful Native American and Native Hawaiian mathematicians you could convey into your classroom. Plus – sufficient profiles to run a Mathematician of the Week for the remainder of the college 12 months!

 

Dr. Kamuela Yong

Dr. Kamuela Yong is a professor of arithmetic on the College of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu. He’s the primary Native Hawaiian to earn a Ph.D. in utilized arithmetic and is the co-founder of the group Indigenous Mathematicians.
