The Israeli embassy in London was the goal of a terror plot by Iranian nationals who have been arrested by British counterterrorism police on Saturday, based on individuals conversant in the investigation.
5 Iranians have been detained in co-ordinated arrests throughout England on Saturday, whereas three different Iranians have been detained in a separate operation.
Till now UK authorities had not indicated what the suspects have been focusing on, though the Metropolitan Police on Sunday stated the investigation associated to “a suspected plot to focus on particular premises”.
However individuals conversant in the investigation stated on Wednesday that the 5 Iranians arrested in west London, Swindon, Rochdale, Stockport and Manchester have been suspected of being a part of a cell that was within the remaining phases of planning an assault on the Israeli embassy in Kensington, west London.
They indicated that the suspects could have been hours away from executing their plans when police intervened.
